Spring Break And Doing The Windows!

I know it's taken me longer than usual to update. I'm slowly making my way around journal land, and I am having the most wonderful time reading journals that I haven't visited before! There is a lot of talent out there and I'm so happy to be a part of this community! Thanks to everyone who invited me into your journals. it's been a most enlightening experience for me. My only problem is, when I find journals I like, I tend to stay for a while and make myself at home. I'm on my 2nd coke this evening and I'll be wired all night, not wanting to get up in the morning when my rooster crows. Stephen, being the rooster :)  Speaking of my little early bird, I put together a little picture story for him again and we're sharing it with all of you. You will see all of the ways he is growing and learning. He loves to be of any kind of help and when he learns something new, he wears it out! He has been able to feed himself finger foods for several years now, and we have been trying ever so hard to work on spoon/fork feeding. Some of you are visiting for the first time, and may not be aware that Stephen has Cerebral Palsy, due to the fact he was 3 months premature. Any simple task such as self feeding, communicating, etc., is a very big milestone for us. For the last few weeks, I have watched Stephen come out of his shell. He's been trying harder than I've ever seen him try, and is so proud of himself.  A lot of you have expressed concerns about our school system in AL. We're blessed to have a special ed. staff at his school who really care and want the best for these children. The director was able to get funding approved for a summer program! Not what they've been used to, but enough to keep the kids in a routine in a classroom setting.  I hope you enjoy Stephen's social story above! We're planning on going to a fun place this weekend. I'll update asap! Have a happy weekend!

I always love your photo stories. You do SO much with that kiddo. He's really blessed to have you for a momma. And you know, chores like washing the windows are probably good for him. Builds muscle tone, right? Wash on, Wash off. LOL Reminds me of the karate kid.

Anyway... he's coming along. It's so fun to see him learn new things!! Love you!!

Stephen's doing really well. Washing windows, sliding all by himself, feeding himself [cheese ravioli was my fave food as a kid]. Good news about school. Right on! Have a fun weekend Mia. xo

Great story Stephen, looks like you had a great day, and helping your mom, yep, that will make playtime come alot quicker. I know she appreciates that you make the sun come through brighter by making those windows shine! I'm really proud of how well you're doing!
Love you, Penny

How sensitive (and wise) you are to include this great album and update your scores of new readers in this entry. Hope you'll add my journal to your already too-heavily-scheduled cybertreks.

I really enjoyed the "Stephen" pictures. Yes, He seems to be improving almost daily. I think he needs more fishing trips. :-)). The Coke Roast was very good but too sweet for me. (diabetic). Hah ha, I ate it any way. Libby thought it was good and easy to make. Now for the Coca Cola chicken!! Tonight will be homemade pizza with pepperoni and =====>BEER!!! Hello to Stephen, My Regards, Bill.

Awww...looks like you had a great day! Ravioli's are a big hit around here too & the kiddo's love to *help* clean too. LOL, gotta admit that sometimes I wish they wouldn't, I could get it done faster. I brought them to the park last week, but the weather has been terrible around here for the past week, so we haven't been able to go back. Sammi is having park withdrawals. Mikey still eats the pebbles : )
OMG, gotta go. Mikey just came up & gave me a wet kiss, wants my attention, lol.
