Below is a copy of the email I sent to the morning radio show:: They probably won't even read it, but somehow, I feel better. :)
I wanted to voice, as a mother of a mentally challenged child, I am appalled not only that Ralphie May was allowed to make jokes about mentally retarded individuals on the Beaner and Ken show, I am even more appalled that Beaner and Ken laughed their asses off at the jokes. How dare they ever show their faces at any event in the future for a charity drive linked with any association for mentally retarded people. THEY owe their audience an apology. Not that my husband or I will be listening for it...We won't be tuned in.

PS~ yes, give him chocolate milk and he's happy. And yes, he does have to wear a helmet because he has a seizure disorder and cerebral palsy. Do you REALLY think that is funny? COME ON!

I'm glad you shared this with us and I hope you're never put in such a position again...not because I think you can't handle it becaue you've proven you can..but because I hope people stop more often to think about their actions!

Mia! Girlfriend, I'm sure you are not the only one who was appalled by this! I live in Alabama too, and can't stand Beaner and Ken. And for reasons such as this! They make fun of so many people, just for ratings...and it makes me sick. And honey, your southern accent can't be as bad as mine! LOL I live close to Sand Mountain! hahaha!
Great letter, Mia. Even in your justified indignance you showed real class, which is more than these clowns deserve. It would be interesting to see if and how they respond.
From Funeral Home Guy, YOu guys need to grow up a little, Beaner and ken are the best thing on the Air here in alabama. The problem with this world today is that noone can laugh at anything. MY GOD it is a joke and there is nothing wrong with jokeing. I am GLad Beaner and Ken are back here in ALabama and i bet they will be for a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGG Time so, Tune them in on 100.5 and Enjoy

Does anyone want to explain why "that GIRL" is signing-off as "Funeral Home GUY?"
And, as for growing up a little, it's a sad state of affairs when someone thinks Beaner and Ken are "the best thing on the air" when they host the likes of Ralphie May as he chooses to make fun of the indefensible.
Ralphie May /gets/ to choose whether he "fights back" if I make fun of his extreme size, but many people do not. I challenge anyone - including "that girl" to stand in front of someone fully capable of defending the helpless while they try to make fun of them. It's NOT funny, it's NOT "the best thing going," it's NOT something to be laughed at, and it's NOT something to joke about ... lest you have the sac to joke about it in front of people who are willing to fight back.
When that day comes, let's see who's laughing - and who's left holding their teeth.
The only reason cowards like Ralphie May make these "jokes" is because embiciles like "that girl" feel empowered by attacking people who can not defend themselves. If I were Ken or Beaner, I wouldn't be pinning my hopes to endorsements from "that girl" and her ilk.
