HELLO!!! Yes, we're still here...The photo above was taken this weekend to prove it. I have many more to post later when I have the energy...
Thanks everyone for the emails, get well greetings, and Easter greetings. I love you all, many-many bunches!
I have good news and bad news. Which one do you want first? Okay..I'll get the bad news over with. I am SICK as a dawg. Yet, I managed to gain 5 pounds in one week? Go figure!?! I am not really complaining about that because I had lost around 15 pounds and was looking like the stick that was Popeye's girlfriend...what's her name? Olive...Oil? LOL! That is what keeps coming to my little ole mind...
My sister in law is keeping me busy, planning this 50th anniversary bash for mama and daddy. God love her, if she only knew how terrible I feel. I just keep popping advil and going. Somehow, by the grace of God I am still able to function.
Now the good news! I was on my way to buy groceries today after my sister in law and I checked on a possible caterer and I took her to the place I had reserved for the party (which she had not seen yet) to get an idea of how we will decorate and do the seating arrangements, when my cell phone rang for the 3rd time in 20 minutes. This time, it was Stephen's case worker telling me that she had news...In order to keep Stephen eligible for this program, he has to be taking advantage of some kind of benefit or they would deny him. Would I be interested in a housekeeper? Oh, Would, I!?! When I got off the phone with her, I practically skipped into the grocery store...fever and all! Fever, what fever? Just that small bit of good news made me feel better. :P I am not sure when this begins, but I meet Thursday with them and will meet the darling person, whoever she is, who will be what I consider a life saver at this point in my life. So..even though there is bad news. I'm not well.. There is good news. I have 2 hours of help a week. I know...2 hours? That's it? Hey, I'll take what I can get at this point! :) This service is a service to Stephen only. She will clean his room and do his laundry. Still, this saves me a little bit of back ache. I clean his room from top to bottom every week. I wash his walls, clean his windows, mop his floor, dust everything in there. It's not really that big of a job...I've seen walk in closets bigger than his room. No, joke.
Easter was very laid back. I am such a bad mommy, I forgot to make his Easter basket till Sunday night. I was just that ill.. He didn't know the difference, God bless him, but that still doesn't make me feel better for forgetting. We made up for it yesterday and hid eggs in the house, and let him dig into his basket. He was wired till 11 last night, got up this morning with a sugar hangover, then went to school and drove his teachers nuts! (according to his take-home note)
Well friends, even when I'm not at my best, I am long-winded. I suppose it's because I am the grand daughter of a preacher..it's just in my blood. It's almost Stephen's bed time and I have laundry to fold. I'll check in asap. Have a great week!

You and Stephen look great in the picture. I'm so happy for you to be getting the help. Like you said, every little bit helps. Feel better soon.
OH my you two look great. Hey I am glad to see you are still around. Nice picture I cant wait to see more of the person with the same middle name!!!!!! LOL ANd your adorable little boy. I sure am sorry you are feeling better. Maybe loosing weight was it. I had gotten down to 97 lbs with out my teeth. I finally got them (3 pairs) Friday and I have gotten up to 100lbs. YOu can stop by my journal (when you ar efeeling better) and read all about dental work and if you ever have to or have friends who do this will be of some help to them. God really did work miracles. I am so glad you got help. What a special gift for you to have help even two hours a week. I am so glad you got to write and post that pictures. Tell Stephen hello from our family and dont eat too much candy. But do take a bite for us. Lori http://beta.journals.aol.com/my78novata/LorisLaurels/
irun-Yes, every little bit helps! Thanks for the well wishes! I will be feeling better soon, I am sure. If this little flare up is "normal" it only lasts 1 1/2 to 2 weeks out of the month. I'll be okay in a few days. :)
Lori-Thanks! I hopped over to your journal yesterday and didn't see a new entry, so I'm on my way there now to check out your story. God Love ya, 97 pounds! That was me about a year ago, and I had finally gained up to about 115 and then lost all that I had gained. I'm just sad bc I really thought all that was behind me after the last round of lupron injections. (that stuff is very wicked on the body and I will not do it again!) Yeah, I'm pleased that I'll have help..and at the same time, it's going to be "weird" to have someone else do MY job.
PS....Great pic of both you and Stephen :)
((((Mia)))) So sorry you're feeling sick : ( ~~Hope that things get better for you soon. YAY!! on the housekeeper, 2 hours a week sounds wonderful. : )
And lol, on no Easter Basket's until Sunday night. I worked the nightshift all weekend, was too tired to do Easter baskets. So we went to NH to see my folks/siblings for Easter dinner...and when we arrived home at 9pm, SURPRISE Easter Bunny finally arrived at our house. Sammi got wired by the chocolate and stayed up until midnight...(that darn Easter bunny, lol) And this is the first year that I can remember that I didn't color eggs.... Anyways, don't feel bad, there were other slacker Easter Bunny's around : ) Hey, sometimes it's hard being SUPERmom and wearing all the other hats too....
WOW! a housekeeper. how cool is that? 2 hours...that actually seem like a lot time really. especially when you think of the weight it will lift from your mind. It must be all those prayers were all sending up.
now....to get you better. :(
The picture is georgous. you both radient a warmth, a glow. even if you don't feel it mia...you do. It's lovely! xo AND *hugs.
Yippee! The good news is great. But the bad news is not-so-great. Hopefully with the extra 2 hours of help [which is really amazing] you'll be able to take some time for yourself - a bath, extra sleep, etc. Remember, you're no help to anyone if you can't take care of yourself. [who's your mama? ::wink::] Love you honey - be good to yourself.
That is good news. Hopefully the two hours will give you time to focus on your self and your well-being.
First, I like the picture and have downloaded it to use as a desk top for a few days. OK?(I hope) Next, Tell your Sister-In-Law to leave you alone for a while so you can vegitate and get well. NO Sick Mommies allowed!!!!!!! Finally, I had a house keeper for my Dad when he got real bad. It was through Social Services. The Lady that came took care of his needs only but, what a great job she did for him. It gave my Mom a little "rest time". The Lady bathed Dad, washed his clothes, and cleaned his room. Oh, she also made him lunch every day and fed him that meal when it was necessary. I'm glad that you and Stephen will benefit from some of the taxes I pay. These are the programs that I feel are useful and necessary. Please get better. Hello Stephen. My Regards, Bill.
great photo of you two, he has your smile! I'm sorry you're still not feeling up to par, but that is great news regarding the house keeper even if it's just for a little bit a week. And you are definately not a bad mommy, I'm sure Stephen didn't mind in the least about his basket!
I hope you're feeling better.
Love you, Penny

First off, you look GORGEOUS. But yeah, the first thing I thought when I looked at you was, "She's lost weight." Careful, sweetie. And how awesome is that?! A housekeeper!! Woot!! LOL I love how they actually asked, "Would you be interested?" Why didn't they ask sooner! That's fabulous. What a load off you. Now, go eat something, pretty girl. :D
Hiya Mia. What a great picture of you and Stephen. You sure don't look like Olive Oil, you little turkey! LOL
As for the housekeeper...YEAH! Any little bit helps is what I say. I really hope you start feeling better, Mia.
Love you!
Beautiful photo of you and Stephen!
Still concerned here about your health problems, do take care of yourself and don't do household work to the point of exhaustion. Skipping housework once or twice is okay.
Now that you have a housekeeper, I hope you will take advantage of those two hours to get some much needed downtime.
