Who is going to be the next American Idol?

American Idol on Fox

Has anyone else been watching American Idol? It was a tough vote for me last night. Last year, it was easy...I was pulling for Birmingham's very own Ruben Studdard from the very beginning. I loved Clay too, but I agreed with Simon, and thought his voice is more Broadway material. Clay will be appearing on the show tonight, singing his song, "Solitaire."  Also tonight, we will see who is staying another round and who is going. So far, my choices are::

George Huff- I love his smile! George beams of joy! He has a good voice and I find myself smiling back at him while he is performing.

Jon Peter Lewis-The kid can't dance (if you've been watching you know what I mean) but he has a good voice and a cute personality.

The women are the strong voices this year. This is going to be tough! I predict one of these three will be in the top 2:

Fantasia Barrino-This woman owns the stage! Reminds me so much of Tina Turner. Yeah, she's THAT good! She is my personal favorite out of all of the female contestants.

Diana Degarmo-Cute little girl, still in high school, but her voice totally rocks! Very, strong voice!

Jasmine Trias- Also very talented and has a strong voice. But I wasn't able to see or hear all of her performance (Stephen needed my attention at the time) But what I did hear, was very good.

If you've been watching...leave your thoughts, please!

Who did I vote for? :) My personal favorite male, George Huff. I love his smile, his voice and presence!

I tried to vote for Fantasia, but finally gave up because it was so busy. That's a good sign!

So, I better get going. Stephen keeps pulling the bacon out of the fridge and bringing it to me. Tonight, Stephen and I will be having a bacon, egg and cheese omelet :) And I'll be making a grilled chicken salad for dad. (his daddy has class tonight, so I'm making easy stuff) Tomorrow, Thursday Sweep is back! I need to rest up anyway. Take care!

Yes I too will confess to American Idol. My favorites female: Latoya London, Fantasia Barrino, Jennifer Hudson( Almost flatlined when she was in bottom 2) Jasmine Trias, I think Amy Adams is cute, especially love her attitude.

Favorites Male: George Huff, and John the little Frank Sinatra guy.

In the beginning I was disappointed in the show but now that the final 12 are in I also think that this is the strongest group of singers since the show debuted. See ya next time. ~RC~

Great journal. I also have a special needs child. Stay the course-the rewards are truly personal and dear.

you know, I watched American Idol these past two years and loved it, but this time, it just doesn't seem like I have the time for it. I know I work on Tuesday's and Wed we go to my husbands for dinner...it's just not fitting in, bummed! I have seen briefly the lady, fantasia..she does rock. :)

LOL I just re-read my comment, and I noticed I said "we go to my husbands for dinner" I meant...my husbands family. sorry. :)

I've only caught snippets of AI this season, I'm such a bad TV viewer lately. I didn't see this next batch of contestants, so it's hard to compare. But some of them I've seen were really very good, I just can't remember the names, argh!

Sounds like a great dinner, yum. =P

WooHoo! Another American Idol junkie! Now I know who to B.S. with about the show. LOL

Hmmm...like you, I really enjoy George. He seems so genuine and does have a fantastic voice. I also really like the guy with red hair...I can't remember his name. But I love that 'Dean Martin' voice of his. I don't think he'll go far, but he's a cutie.

And yes...I know what you mean about Jon's dancing. Cripes! =)

Free-I love Diana Degarmo too! I think she'll be in it for a long time. I think the top 2 is very possible for her! (did I mention she was born in B'ham?..now lives in GA)

RC-I too was disappointed in the beginning, I thought..uh,oh..not gonna be good this year. But I think it's gonna be one of the best, yet!

Muse-Dinner was good that night. I'll lay back a little more often. No one complained; especially, me!

Bridgette-Yes! I admit, I'm a junkie! To the point, I pack Stephen's lunch, give him his bath and have all of my chores done and out of the way by the time it comes on, on Tue. and Wed. nights. I'm hooked! Also..I've noticed, a lot of folks like the "Bing, Dean-guy", as I call him. I think his name is Jon. Simon likes him too. That cute lil kid might make it far. Who knows?

Mia I enjoyed your review of this year's idol contenders. I haven't been able to catch it as much as I'd like. I did see it the night that Fantasia first performed...she could share the stage with Tina Turner and still hold her own!

Vivian-I agree, she's going places! It's going to be a good season for American Idol!

Love American Idol too.... My early favs are Fantasia (she reminds me of Macy Gray), La Toya, & Diana. Definitely think it will be a female winner this year. My fav guys are George and Jon P. Lewis. Think they both have very good voices and great personalities. I usually don't vote until it gets down to the final 5....
Last year I rooted for Ruuuuuuuuuuben Stoddard all the way, but loved Clay too.

Song-thanks for commenting. I forgot about Latoya! She does have a voice that rocks. I didn't get to see all of her performance, I think she was the first one to perform.

SloMo-I don't know why I'm obsessed with this show! I can't miss it. I think I just love to watch these young people's dreams come true. And to think that I can actually have a hand in it, is a great feeling! If you have time, try to watch. You have a good ear for music, I think you'd like it. :)
