A Birmingham wife and mother made signs, sipped wine and read a Womans Day magazine at 1:00 PM Central time yesterday, in protest of being tired, overworked, and underpaid. When asked what took her so long to do so, she simply looked up from her magazine and said, My AOL-Journal friends told me to! Then, proceeded to take a sip. No, please allow me to rephrase that, she took a huge, gulp of Chardonnay and went back to the article she was reading on, Family Vacations Made Easy. Also in protest, she propped her feet on the ottoman and stretched out for about an hour. She had no further comments, other than a message to her AOL-Journal friends, thanking them for their advice, and also said that Stephen is well and back in school. Check back soon for updates.

Yay, it's about time! You definitely deserve to take time for yourself, I'm glad you finally took your AOL-J friends' advice. Now, if only Mia will promise to take one-hour breaks on a regular basis, complete with chardonnay, magazine reading and feet propping on ottoman?! =P
ROFL!!!!! Awesome!!!!!! That woman, whoever she is [wink, wink] is my hero!!!! I think women across America should take note!! We're not taking this anymore!! You've started a revolution!!! tehehehe... LoL
So good to see you with your feet up. You look beautiful!! Great entry. I can't get the smile off my face! :D
YEA!!!!
Go MIA!!

hey...can I have a glass of wine and sit with you...you look so comfy in that beautiful house...
:)
YAY!!! ROTF! [actual hysterical laughter] Great entry Mia. Finally, you found the time for you - with pictures to prove it! Woohoo! Now, do that every single day! At least one hour for you and you alone! Yours is one picket line I won't cross!!!
Now this is the kind of journal entry I like to wake up to!!! LOL, I'm loving this Mia. What a relaxing scenario. Looking Good!!! Just keep doing it until it becomes a habit. You SO deserve It. Glad Stephen is better! (((((YOU))))),((((STEPHEN)))))
I'll be back for the updates,
~RC~
Muse-I remembered what you and Freee both advised and put the oxygen mask on :P ::wink:: I promise to make this a habit!
SloMo-I do hope I haven't started something that'll get out of hand. Husbands across America will hate me. My own husband looked at me like I'd totally lost it, when he saw those signs behind the sofa, which btw.. I forgot to take down bc I was feeling a buzz from the wine :)
Babyshark-Of course you have an open invitation to come over and sit with me. Even if you have to toss the unfolded laundry from the sofa to the floor. A couple of glasses of wine and lots of laughter! God bless my mess and come on in!
Freee-"actual hysterical laughter" <~I can picture that! It had been so long since I'd had any kind of alcohol, I was actually buzzing after one glass! I tripped on my way to the bus to get Stephen, and the bus driver teased me and asked if I'd been drinking :P
RC-Hugs right back to ya! I'm glad I could make you laugh this morning! I promise to make a habit out of this! Well, maybe I'll go easy on the wine. But I will make a point to make time for my "stillness" (See, I was paying attention to you and even printed your entry on that subject!)
LMAO, seriously....This is great! Glad to hear that Stepehn is better & back in school. Enjoy your strike :)
Michelle-LOL, I know you understand how I was feeling at the moment. I am glad you got a laugh out of it! Now, go grab a magazine, a glass of wine and do the same, even if just for one hour...you'll be amazed how a mini-vacation like that can help!
Haha! Thats GREAT! Enjoy it!! Love the signs ;)
~Mary
looks like that big pillow on the couch is just hiding the bottle...
we're not fooled by that little glass in your hand! ;P
Mia - just can't get enough of those pictures! They are a wonderful ... We will be waiting eagerly for the updates. Just can't beat a good "feet-up" exercise! What will power, what corageousness, what magnitude of "voice." Hehe Just thrilled to be in the company of so much greatness! We slush over ... even without the Chardonnay! Our love, Ayn and all
LOL ~ Mia...you are so cute! I'm so glad you got that free hour. Such a short amount of time can make such a huge difference in attitude and spirit.
Very cute entry! Made me chuckle. =)
XO ~ Bridgett
Ayn-You are always so kind with your words.. I just love to see that you have been here! "feet up exercise" I like that!
Brigette-My spirit was up that day. My sil has a lot to do with my change in attitude. She's upbeat and funny; but thinks I spend too much time with my camera and computer..
Mary-I started making the signs as a joke for my husband, and took it a little too far. :P I think it was the wine. Heehee!
armandt-Dang! how'd you know? There's NO fooling you guys!
{{{{{{{{{{MIA RENEE}}}}}}}}}} this was the sweetest entry! I'm so glad you got some rest and proved it to us! Kisses to Paul and Stephen!
Vivian-Thans!-I can be a silly thing at times :P I wanted to not only "say" to everyone that I took your advice, I wanted to prove it and..what better way? Heeheehee!
Mia, this is too cute!!! Glad to know in spite of all that you have to do, you still haven't lost your sense of humor along the way. :-) ---Robbie
You have made my day and apparently made your own too! I love it!! Tell Stephen I said Hi. Regards, Bill.
Robbie-One thing my family tries to do is laugh in the face of danger, evil and anything that is sad. I decided to take an hour last week and remind myself that it's better to laugh than to cry :) Glad you enjoyed it!
Bill-LOL, so glad this made your day. I really giggled a lot after the wine and had a bit of a buzz when I made the entry :P
The pics are blurry most likely my IPS, but I can imagine the signs! ROFL!
Good for you Mia, and about time!
Not insane, not you by a long shot!
Love, Penny
Penny-I know there isn't a woman in the world who cannot relate to these feelings :) I tried to speak for all :P
