See? It has gotten better...

Ah, you see? I told you that it's gotten better.  This picture was taken last year at the Galleria (a local mall) The Galleria does something very special for Special Children every year. They give them breakfast with Santa. (somehow, we missed it, this year) There is a 5 star restaurant and hotel located at the Galleria as well, and their chefs cater an amazing breakfast to the children, teachers, parents.. etc. Served from their best silver, on their best linen. Wish I had a picture of that!  It's really beautiful, and would make anyone feel important. I suppose you could call it the royal treatment. Also, they offer free carousel rides, free pics with Santa, and a big goodie bag, packed full!  So-you can see from the photo up there that Stephen no longer cries, but he wants to get his hands into Santa's beard so bad! (notice, santa is having to hold both Stephen's hands away from his beard) Oh, that poor man, I do hope he got paid well that day. There were hundreds of kids lined up, far as the eye could see' "The line stretched all the way to Tarahote" :P (Made me think of the mall scene in A Christmas Story-although this Santa did a very good job, acting cheerful, whether he was or not)

ps:: So many of you will be happy to know that for the first time (in almost a YEAR) Stephen's dad and I are getting some respite, this afternoon! Whoohoo, lunch and shopping! Yep! Stephen's behavioral specialist who worked with his intensive in-home behavior/communication program, and has advocated for him within the system, is providing the respite! (God bless her!)

That's a great picture! Looks like Dallis and I will
be missing a pic with Santa this year because the
lines, all the way to Tarahote, (ROFL) are just too
long. I waited too late in the season, but Dallis doesn't
seem to mind. Glad, so glad, that you and hubby are
getting out and about for yourselves...you both deserve
some grownup times too.
Love you, and hope you have a wonderful day!

Well, well, well. I am so glad to hear you are going to get out and admire the Magnolia's! I am happy for you. Respite is a blessing from God and an act of kindness from the respite provider! Our chilren also need the break from us. Jonathan always enjoys his respite time. Stephen looks so handsome in his picture. Santa looks as if he was holding up pretty well. Jonathan is now older than most of the mall Santa's.But he loves Santa more and more as he gets older.Merry Christmas.

yea! that is much better. but, the first picture is still just as cute! You can tell stephen wants to crawl right up into santa's lap and give the beard a good pull....doesn't every child? I know I did. :) great picture and by the entry I can tell it was a very good time and I am also glad you get your respite! I prayed that you would... ;)

Tell Stephen he'll have his own beard to fool around with someday :) Great picture and great news that you and Paul got some time alone together. Hugs to you and Paul and Stephen :)
