A few of our favorite charities

Obviously, we're big supporters of the Special Olympics. We've already donated $10 (read:SloMo's pounds for a cause) I have a list below of a few of our other favorite charities and links.

After almost 11 years, we still have no concrete diagnosis for Stephen. We do know, however that being born three months premature, he probably has Cerebral Palsy. He was diagnosed with that at age 2, then the neurologist wanted to do genetic testing because of his rare heart defect. Other than the heart defect, Stephen has strong similarities with Angelman Syndrome, although all of the tests for this has been normal to date. Of course, who knows what kind of tests will be available in the years to come. As his mother, and knowing he was blue at birth and was unable to breathe on his own, I know in my heart that he suffered  brain damage, and I can see atrophy on the images they took of his brain. I have very little medical background,  but enough to know that he has brain damage which occurred during or shortly after his birth.

Go to my other journal (link on the left sidebar) and read my, the gift goes on story, about how good deeds always come back around, and sometimes sooner than you think. I'll continue with some Christmas cheer, and other pictures and stories about our family soon! Plus, I have found so many Journals that are really getting me into the Christmas spirit, I'll list them... Come back soon. Bring some hot cocoa, okay?

mia... Thankyou for including Angleman Syndrome in your favorite charities list. Dec.24 is Angelman Syndrome Awareness Day. This charities list and Pounds for a Cause idea is great. More of why later! I have just discovered all this info and linkage of love in the community and don't have time to enjoy it right now. I shall return after everyone here is asleep tonight. I am excited about your new journal.Brenda

YAY, Brenda. Glad you came over. And yes, Angelman syndrome is one of my favorites and so dear to my heart. Some of my favorite people there :) I haven't been to the list in ages. I have to go see how all is doing and wish them a Merry Christmas. Love you, and be prepared, as one journal will lead you to another, and another, and so on! It's like family. I haven't added links on the left yet. But when I have time, I will.
